From his workshop at the foot of the French Alps, Opinel forged a cult classic. Generations of artists, explorers, and farmers have carried the instantly recognizable, imminently useful Opinel knife in their pockets.
Little has changed since 1890. Rooted in history and a commitment to craftsmanship, the Opinel family still makes their knives in the Savoie region of France. Each year, our team of 180 employees in France manufactures 6.5 million knives, ranging from outdoor tools to kitchen knives, all to honor Joseph Opinel’s focus on quality and simplicity.
Since 2016, Opinel USA Inc. has been serving the US market with local distribution and its dedicated team. Our office is located in Chicago, Illinois.
